I've just been watching Digg over the past hour in disbelief of the silly protest going on by certain users. It's a futile and ridiculous protest.
They say their protesting censorship. Digg deleted a topic that had posted a leaked number that would bypass any DRM issues on HD-DVDs.
It's out there now, so if you really want it, search Google.
Now some Digg users, I'll call them "misguided ringleaders", are creating new accounts and reposting the story to Digg over and over again - and encouraging everyone to bury any other story as spam.
The administrators at Digg.com have had to delete the original post for legal reasons. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, guys, but Kevin Rose isn't your best friend - he is a business man, and he's running a business. I can't complain about him culling the post.
The issue here is not about censorship. It's about legal issues. If you can't understand that, maybe it's because you've never run a website before - or been a part of a company web development.
You guys have just targeted yourselves in the Digg community. I'm calling you on your bullshit. Everytime I see one of your silly protest posts, I'm burying it as spam. Everytime I see your protest comments, I'm burying you, AND blocking you.
Why?
Because funnily enough, the Digg community is actually made up of people who submit articles properly and enjoy being a part of the process. Your upstaging antics are misguided and unecessary. Will Digg comment on the issue? Of course they will.
But in the meantime, many of us have better things to do at Digg than put up with your silly cries for attention.
